Usage Note

Astronautica is the science and technology of space travel and is used as a field of study (facoltà di astronautica) or an industry descriptor. It is always singular. Do not confuse with astronomia (the observational science of celestial bodies) — astronautica focuses on engineering and human spaceflight.
